Microprocessor automatic block system

Microprocessor automatic blocking (MP AB) is a system for interval control of train movement.

Designed for:

  • Monitoring the condition of rail lines;
  • Transfer of information between signal points;
  • Control of traffic lights according to traffic safety conditions;
  • Formation of signals for automatic locomotive signaling systems;
  • Transmitting data on the train position on the stretch to the station;
  • Equipment diagnostics of automatic blocking signal points.

MP AB allows you to increase the speed of trains on main sections of railways, as well as increase the capacity of stations with the required traffic safety.

The system is designed for:

  • Single-track, double-track and multi-track sections of railways equipped with direct or alternating current electric traction systems, as well as autonomous types of traction;
  • Areas with centralized power supply for passenger cars;
  • Areas for circulation of locomotives and multi-unit rolling stock with pulse control of traction motors;
  • High speed lines;
  • Newly built and modernized lines.

The system equipment is located centrally at the EC station posts that limit the stretch, and on the stretch in track and transformer boxes.

Advantages of the MP AB system

Increased operational reliability due to:

  • Redundancy of main system components;
  • Application of a more reliable element base;
  • Reducing the number of system elements, including signal cable consumption.

Increasing availability factor due to:

  • Using a backup channel for transmitting information to and from the locomotive;
  • Possibility of reconfiguring the system in the event of failure of its individual components and sensors;
  • Construction of a redundant power supply system.

Improving the safety of train traffic on the stretch due to:

  • Using additional coding of signals in track circuits in order to eliminate mutual influence;
  • Using the logic of a train following a section;
  • Possibility of influencing the moving devices (turning on prohibiting indications at traffic lights, etc.) by the station duty officer or dispatcher for the purpose of fencing and limiting the speed
  • of movement in the work area, etc.

Reducing capital and operating costs due to:

  • The use of a small number of unified blocks on plug connectors with a minimum number of interblock connections;
  • Reducing the dimensions of devices by 3 times;
  • Reducing the consumption of signal-blocking cable by 30 – 50%;
  • Possibility of automated measurement of system parameters with maintenance of an electronic log of measurements by the duty engineer of the signaling and communications distance.
