The RWA company has modernized the railway traffic control system of the Mikhailovsky GOK

The RWA company installed and put into operation a microprocessor centralization system at the Vostochnaya station of Mikhailovsky GOK OJSC, Russia.

The RWA company has completed a project to modernize the traffic control system of industrial railway transport at Art. Eastern Mikhailovsky GOK in the Kursk region, Russian Federation. The company completed design documentation, supply of equipment, construction, installation and commissioning works. The MPC system of Vostochnaya station includes 53 switches and 57 traffic lights. Control over the movement of mobile units at the station is carried out using axle counting equipment.

Mikhailovsky Mining and Processing Plant is the second largest iron ore mining and processing complex in Russia. The plant’s production volume is 18% of the production of iron ore concentrate and sinter ore; the mining and processing plant has the largest explored and estimated ore reserves in Russia (according to Rudprom).

For an enterprise of this scale, the most important task is to increase the level of controllability of production processes, in particular, to improve the conditions for the passage of trains and vehicles. Equipping the plant’s station with a modern microprocessor-based railway traffic control system ensures a high level of safety and prevention of incidents and emergency situations.

To date, the period of trial operation has ended and the microprocessor centralization system of the Vostochnaya station has been put into permanent operation.
