New train traffic dispatch control system for the State Unitary Enterprise “Moscow Metro”

From April to June 2014, within the framework of the agreement between RWA and JSC NIIAS (Moscow), NPP Zheldoravtomatika LLC carried out work on the development of design documentation for the reconstruction of the dispatch centralization system of the Sokolnicheskaya Line of the Moscow Metro.

The project included 19 operating stations of the first line of the Moscow Metro, 3 stations under construction, a training complex, as well as the Severnoye depot.

As part of the project, RWA developed a subsystem of telemechanics and interface devices with objects (hereinafter referred to as TM and USO). This is the station level of dispatch centralization as part of an automated dispatch control system (hereinafter referred to as ADCS).

The dispatcher level of the ASDU (control area level) was developed by JSC NIIAS. For the interaction of the TM and USO subsystems with the upper-level subsystems of the ASDU, new circuit and software solutions have been developed and implemented.

In parallel with the design, at the test site of the Moscow Metro, RWA assembled a prototype of the system and tested it for compliance with the general technical requirements for the automated dispatch control system for the movement of metro trains.

In the future, the company plans to implement this project, which will include the full range of services for delivery of the turnkey system – supply of equipment, construction, installation, commissioning, warranty and post-warranty service.

The project is planned to be implemented in two stages.

At the first stage, the reconstruction of the dispatch level, the Komsomolskaya and Sportivnaya stations, as well as the main communication lines between them is carried out.

At the second stage, the remaining stations of the Sokolnicheskaya line and the main communication lines between them will be reconstructed.

It should be noted that this is not the first experience of the RWA company in reconstructing automation systems at existing metro facilities. Before this: In 2010, the station operation control system (SURST) South Station was reconstructed at the Kharkov Metro. In 2011, the Kharkov Metro carried out a reconstruction of automatic and remote control devices for train movement (ATDP) at the Kholodnaya Gora station.

As part of the reconstruction, the following ATDP systems were replaced with more modern ones:

  • route-relay centralization – to microprocessor centralization;
  • power racks PV-60 – for an uninterruptible power supply system based on equipment from Benning (Germany);
  • phase-sensitive rail circuits – to tone rail circuits;
  • The APC system was transferred to control via digital communication channels from microprocessor centralization.

In 2012, at the Kharkov Metro, the RWA company carried out major repairs of the telemechanics system at 8 stations of the Saltovskaya line. All work was carried out without closing or restricting traffic at the station under reconstruction

Previously it was reported about the launch of new metro stations of modern RWA microprocessor centralization systems at stations:

  • in the Kiev metro:
    – Raw;
    – Boryspil;
    – Depot Kharkovskoe;
    – Chervony farm;
    – Vasilkovskaya;
    – Goloseevskaya
    – Exhibition Center;
    – Hippodrome;
    – Teremki;
  • in the Kharkov metro:
    – Cold Mountain;
    – Alekseevskaya.
